This wonderful early electric brass lighting fixture is the famous "combination portable / bracket lamp" circa 1900. It has a factory marked "Edison" lamp socket which pivots in a solid brass "fern leaf design" yoke. The pivoting socket allows the light bulb to remain vertical when the lamp is placed on a table or mounted on a wall. The factory Edison lamp socket has the very early mica insulation and a raised GE circle logo key switch. This piece of early electric history has a wonderful NOS 8c Edison carbon filament light bulb with etched frost. The Edison bulb has an intact and working carbon two loop filament. The bulb's length is 4.25 inches. The brass lamp and Edison light bulb height together is 12 inches. The natural patina of this beautiful historic lamp is untouched to show its age.
